Q. What inspired you to write your book?
I wanted to share my athletic goal achievement method, MOVE!, with more people than I can coach.
Q. What do you want people to take away from your book?
An understanding that there are simple, fun, and powerful steps to goal achievement — that anything is possible.
Q. What did you learn from writing your book?
I learned that an editor is essential. He/she brings an outside perspective that keeps the writer (me) from assuming anything.
Q. What’s the best thing about writing?
Writing is freedom to express yourself. Publishing makes that possible.
Q. What’s the worst thing?
It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to focus on writing and not check my e-mail or distract myself otherwise.
Q. What’s your next book project?
I’m writing Mastering Running with Human Kinetics.
